"This medium-bodied homage to the Left Bank is a perfect pour when meat is grilling in the backyard. Dark raspberry, pipe tobacco, beeswax and forest floor aromas pave the way for  flavors of grilled steak, black cherry compote and a touch of lemon-lime citrus. Velvety tannins and modest acidity." 91pts, Michael Alberty, Wine Enthusiast

Our Wines: Unruly, Wild

Carefully managed Oregon grapes are fermented using native, ‘wild’ yeasts. We think this makes a more complex wine and produces the greatest expression of the terroir. We generally use a minimum of new oak to maintain focus on the fruit and strive to create Pinot Noir that is elegant, nuanced and cellar-worthy.

Our Pinot Noir is sourced from several wonderful vineyards from various AVAs within the north Willamette Valley. We also make small amounts of Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay from the Willamette Valley, Tempranillo from the Umpqua Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon and red blends from Walla Walla. Our Jezebel wines are approachable, fruit-forward wines perfect for everyday drinking and include a white blend and a Pinot Noir.

Our Winemaker: Determined, Pertinacious

As the saying goes, "where there's a will, there's a way," and owner/winemaker Pam Walden is nothing if not willful. Her intention has always been to live life to the fullest, with a strong work ethic and independent spirit that embraces the unknown.

Pam has been making wine in Oregon for over twenty years, starting with the creation of Daedalus Cellars with her then partner Aron Hess in 2000. Willful Wines was created in 2011 with an initial harvest of 341 cases. Current production is around 7000 cases annually at our winery in NE Portland.
